Subsidies paid out, number of meals served, number of student cafeterias and cafeteria operators.
To provide higher education students with access to affordable meals, Kela subsidises school cafeteria operators with earmarked funds from the state budget. Cafeterias operating outside school premises may be eligible for an additional per-meal subsidy towards facility and equipment costs.
