Families with children / Child benefit
The report contains data on the number of families and children who have received child benefit as well as on child benefits paid out. Data are available, for instance, by type of family and by the number of children in the family. The data on single parenthood is based on whether the recipient has received single-parent supplement.
The child benefit is one of the statutory public benefits aimed at defraying the cost of raising a child. Child benefit is paid for each child under 17 years who lives in Finland. It is paid to the parent or provider of the child.
