Families with children / Parenthood allowances
The report contains data on the number of periods of parenthood allowances which have ended during the year, the duration of the period and the number of days which on average have been reimbursed to the employer as well as the average compensation per day.
Period of parenthood allowance means a period during which a person has received maternity, paternity and/or parental allowance. When the period of maternity, paternity or parental allowance has ended it is possible to retroactively analyse what kind of benefits have been paid out during the period.
Periods of maternity, paternity or parental allowance which have ended may, for instance, be analysed when one wants to know how often fathers use parenthood benefits. The proportion of periods during which the father has received some benefit can be calculated by dividing the number of periods of fathers by the number of periods of mothers and multiply the quotient by one hundred.
