Data content

Families having received child care subsidies during the statistical reference period, children for whom subsidy has been paid, subsidies paid out and average subsidy per month. In addition to the benefits mandated by law, this report also provides data on municipal supplements that some municipalities provide through Kela.

Child care subsidies are a form of financial assistance for the provision of child care. The subsidies are paid out in the form of child home care, private day care, partial care allowances and flexible care allowances.

Statistical reference period

Yearly data available since 2007. Monthly data available for the current and two preceding years.

Updating frequency

Updated monthly. Annual data updated in January.

Data source

Kela – The Social Insurance Institution of Finland. Statistical registers (total material) produced from the processing system for child care subsidies.
