Summary report

Data content

The report contains data on recipients of benefits paid by Kela, benefits paid out and average amounts of benefit (EUR/recipient). The report covers the bulk of benefits paid out by Kela.

Under benefits paid out there is, however, no data available on the compensations paid for occupational health care arranged by employers, occupational health care for self-employed persons or for student health services.

Persons having received benefits during the course of the year are not included in the statistics on pensions, disability benefits, housing allowances and child maintenance allowances, nor are average benefit amounts. Only cross-sectional data analysed by month are provided for these benefits.

In the statistics on general housing allowance, the statistical unit used for recipients of the allowance is the household receiving housing allowance, and the average amount of benefit is included for each such household.

As the student loan tax deduction is a deduction made from the recipient's taxes, it does not constitute a benefit paid out.

In the statistics on basic social assistance, the statistical unit used for recipients is the household receiving social assistance, and the average amount of benefit is included for each such household.
