Recipients of pension benefits from Kela and average amount of benefit (EUR/month/recipient).

Pension recipients include persons who during the statistical reference month have received pension benefits which refer to the statistical reference month. The average amount of benefit represents the arithmetic mean of benefit payments for and during the reference month. Retrospective payments for the period preceding the reference month are not included in the mean.

Variables and classifications

• Benefit category. A person may simultaneously receive several benefit categories, for instance a recipient of old-age pension may also receive front-veteran's supplement, additional front-veteran's supplement and child increase.
• Time period (End of year, Month)
• Country of residence (Finland, Other country)
• Geographical focus
• Sex
• Age group (0–4 years, 5–9 years, …, 95–99 years, over 99 years)

Statistical reference period

Yearly data available since 2008. Monthly data available for the current and two preceding years.

Updating frequency

Updated monthly. Annual data updated in January.
